Loop 4A is an alternate to Loop 4. It is 2.24 miles long and starts at the South end of Hill Top Picnic area parking lot  at the Sidewinder Horseshoe trail. Turn right and follow to a fork, bear right to the Boom Scooter trail. Continue on Boom Scooter to the BV Trail, turn left and follow to the Bark Spud trail, back to the West loop Amphitheater area and then take the Barber chair trail to the Sidewinder Horseshoe trail back to the beginning.

Trail surface is hard Packed earth. Elevation gain is 348 ft and is rated as a moderate trail.
