Josephine Saddle

Josephine saddle is located in Madera Canyon. Go to the last parking area. This is where the trail head is located. You will be taking the Old Baldy trail to the Saddle. The round trip distance is 2.37 miles with and elevation gain of 1657 ft. Rating is extreme.

It is a huffer puffer trail! Trail surface is mainly rocky with short sections of hard packed earth. Hiking sticks and plenty of water is recommended. Some go up Old Baldy and then go back down on the Super Trail, making a loop. The track for this route is in and back on Old Baldy.

There is a memorial on the saddle for Boy Scouts that got caught in a freak snow storm on the mountain. Trailhead
