The trail length is 4.8 miles and the elevation gain is 659 feet and is rated as a moderate hike.
Trail surface varies from hard packed desert to rocky as you progress up the mountain.
About 1/2 way after you have descended, there is a spur trail that will lead you to Juan Santa Cruz picnic area. Bathrooms and picnic tables are here and it is a good place to take a break. Continue back to the trail and your route back will be mostly flat and on hard packed desert. Enjoy. Video
