South Falls loop is located in Silver Falls State Park north of Silverton, Oregon. It is a 2.8 +- hike that takes you to 2 water falls. South Falls and Lower South Falls. The trail will take you behind booth falls!
The trail surface is mostly hard packed earth, with some rocky areas. As you approach the falls the surface may become wet and as you go behind the falls water may be pooled on the trail. Getting to the lower falls are stairs that switchback down. The trail is rated a low moderate with an elevation gain of 436 ft.
The GPS signal once in the forest gets a little weird and will not be very accurate. This may add a few tenths of a mile to your track. Trail is well marked. Video
