Shantz loop is a combination of of several trails in Saguaro East National Park. Parking area is located at the east end of Broadway street.

Once you go through the gate, proceed to the sign in box and sign you or your group in. Be sure to scratch your name off when you leave!

The trail is made up of sand and some locations small rocks. The trail is shared with horses and most of the time you are hiking in a trough. Some minor elevation change but no real climb.

The area is pretty, with lots of old Saguaro Cactus, plenty of birdlife and evidence of the Javelina!
